Special Programs for Educators
Throughout its 30–year history, Kolbe Corp has provided thousands of scholarships for K-12 and university educators to attend training programs and has conducted research projects with 23 universities.
Kolbe's groundbreaking research with children is revealing the truth behind supposed learning disabilities. Many children – who could thrive in school if only they were given the freedom to learn according to their natural instincts – are being misdiagnosed and given unnecessary drugs.
Kolbe theory sees every child as perfectly capable of creative problem solving, though always in a unique and personal way. Instead of judging children against one arbitrary, impersonal standard, this method focuses on the child's natural instinctive abilities and innate strengths. By encouraging the expression of these individual gifts, then linking them to wise decision making and personal enthusiasm, the theory helps teachers and parents find the "naturally perfect" capabilities in every child.
Perfectly Capable Kids™
Perfectly Capable Kids is a one-day session jam-packed with unique strategies to ignite the capabilities of kids aged 3 to 15. The program is sponsored by The Center for Conative Abilities, a not-for-profit foundation. Participants will learn techniques to bring out the best in kids and help them self-manage their mental energy.
Parents * Educators * Child psychologists * Child advocates
will gain expertise in guiding kids to the successful use of their natural talents. This is a program for those who believe in building on the strengths inside every kid.
Participants will learn how to:
- Build upon kids' instinctive, innate abilities.
- Help others understand what a particular child needs in order to do his/her best.
- Prevent frustration for youngsters when the way things are supposed to be done doesn't work well for them.
- Reduce conflicts at home and school — when a child's natural approach differs from expectations.
- Encourage kids to self-manage their conative abilities, taking control of their own academic and social success.
- Design a "Conasium™" environment — which is to the mind what a gymnasium is to the body.
- Evaluate school and community programs for their appropriateness for a specific child's needs.
- Compare the differences between ADD/ADHD behaviors and often-misunderstood conative strengths.
- Differentiate between arrogant behaviors and constructive self-esteem – and direct kids toward confident humility.
- Teach kids to evaluate options and make choices based upon awareness of what helps and hinders their personal progress
- Engender creative problem solving in a paint-by-number world.
In addition, participants will use a child's Kolbe Youth™ Index result as a guideline for selecting and sharing Conables® Tricks that can be adapted for individual kids and classrooms.
