About Mari Martin

Mari D. Martin is the founding partner of Performance Strategies Group, Inc. (PSG).  In 1990 she became one of the first consultants worldwide to be trained as a Kolbe Certified™ Consultant.  She is also among a few select consultants who have been named as a Kolbe Certified Master Team Consultant.  In West Michigan, Mari is known fondly as “the Kolbe lady.”

PSG focuses on identifying individual strengths and talents, and accelerates the communication, collaboration and teambuilding process within companies, non-profit organizations and ministry teams.  Their vision is to provide products and services that lead the way in creating healthy teams and building great workplace cultures where everyone is rewarded for their differing strengths and contributions.  Mari’s background is in communication and she spent nine years working in media sales in newspaper, radio and magazine.  But she found her passion when she transferred her communication background into corporate training and organizational development 28 years ago.

Mari is involved extensively in the Holland, MI community where she has lived since 1983.  She has served as the Chairman of the Board of the Holland Area Chamber of Commerce, as president of the Rotary Club of Holland, and a board member of Good Samaritan Ministries, Geneva Camp and Conference Center, and Lakeshore Latino Outreach Center.  She is the first recipient of the Mari Martin Award presented by the Lakeshore Alliance for Sexual and Domestic Violence to a community member who has given of their time and talent to eliminate sexual and domestic violence.

Mari has a passion for long distance running, and has trained for and run in six marathons in Chicago, Green Bay and Cocoa, Florida.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris (also a Kolbe Certified™ Consultant), working together in their business, planting flowers, golfing, and taking in the beautiful lakeside view from their home.  They have two grown sons and one daughter-in-law living in Chicago and relish the opportunity to take the train into the city to visit them.  They are hoping to be grandparents one day!
