Kolbe Strengths™

By combining the four Action Modes© with the three Zones of Operation, twelve unique methods of problem solving called the Kolbe Strengths™ can be identified. Each of us will use four of these approaches when we strive.

Our placement along the Fact Finder Action Mode will determine how each of us deals with data or information. While some of us need to dig thoroughly into the details in order to justify/specify our conclusions, others will be working just as diligently to edit and refine/explain the information gathered, and still others will strive to simplify the data-gathering to prevent getting mired in details.

The Follow Thru Action Mode identifies how each of us deals with structure or planning. There are those of us who solve problems by organizing/systematizing data and initiating procedures. Some of us more naturally rearrange/maintain the parameters and follow the procedures, while others will expend an equal amount of energy adapting the controls or procedures to provide more flexibility.

Quick Start initiators improvise and find new ways to do things, while others are counted on to revise/modify the latest change so that it is more widely acceptable. In order to prevent chaos in the midst of change we look to those who stabilize the situation by keeping us grounded with remnants of the tried and true.

In an increasingly abstract world, those who are more concrete are valued for their talent for physically crafting or constructing solutions, while others with less talent in the Implementor Action Mode renovate/restore or repair what the craftsmen build. Some of us don't have to see it or touch it to deal with it; rather we can imagine a solution through abstract approaches.

No matter what combination of talents we bring into play, each of us will be most productive and get a greater sense of accomplishment when we operate in our own unique way. We make the biggest impact when we solve problems in ways that are most natural for us.
