The 5th Annual Kolbe Strengths Week is in the books, and wow!
What a joy it is to see people across the world coming together in the name of identifying and sharing instinctive strengths.
At the beginning of every May, you can type #KolbeStrengthsWeek in your favorite social media platform and find a variety of charitable projects being enjoyed around the world. Every year, there are more projects than the last, more elaborate, more diverse, and more ambitious.
This growth particularly resonates now, as Kolbe Corp celebrates its 50th year. There was no way to know in 1975 just how far the power of conative strengths would reach, but millions of empowered lives later, Kolbe continues to evolve and expand.
That’s also the beauty of carrying on an annual tradition. When it works, it grows. And Strengths Week works.
Strengths Week is a week in May where the entire Kolbe community shares the power of Kolbe Strengths by helping others get their Kolbe Index results and better understand their natural instincts. People volunteer their talents and training to show a person or organization how tapping into their true selves will help them achieve their purpose, with Kolbe providing the necessary resources for free.
Thousands of Kolbe A™ Indexes were delivered this Strengths Week alone! That’s not to mention hundreds of Student Aptitude™ Quizzes, Kolbe B™’s, and more. The number of projects approved has steadily gone up every year as well, a trend Kolbe intends to continue thanks to incredible people who have taken the Strengths Week mission to heart.
“There is nothing I enjoy more than seeing a team connecting and celebrating their natural advantages,” said Laural Carr, who provided a facilitated Kolbe Team Session with the leadership team at Comeback Catalyst. “What a pleasure to support this hardworking start-up that is truly making a difference in the lives of formerly incarcerated individuals who are stepping into entrepreneurship.”
“Helping others reclaim their strengths (especially the ones they’ve been told were wrong or inefficient) is some of the most rewarding work I do,” added Monica Kenton, who donated her time to support Northern Starz Center for the Performing Arts in Minnesota.”
Laural and Monica are just two of dozens of Kolbe Certified™ Consultants who went above and beyond this year. But you don’t have to do something big to make a big difference. You also don’t have to be Kolbe Certified or work for Kolbe to participate. If you’re committed to helping someone who you believe would benefit from working with a Kolbe Certified Consultant, you can contact Kolbe Corp or you look for a consultant in your area with Kolbe’s consultant search tool.
Strengths Week is about empowering as many lives as possible by helping others identify their instinctive strengths and use them for the things they care about most.
How do we do that?
With your help!
Strengths Week happens at the beginning of May, every year. Here is how you can participate next year:
This could be a person starting out or re-entering the work world who you give a Kolbe A and B Index and take time to show how they can reduce the stress of their job or chart a new career path. Or, it could be your colleague or spouse who you think would benefit by better understanding how they naturally solve problems.
Perhaps there’s a community organization you’re involved with that would benefit from having their senior leadership go through a Team Success Seminar. Whatever you’re motivated to do, we hope you’ll take the opportunity to help the world focus a little more on how we work well.
The fastest way to pay it forward is to share your story with the world. How did getting your Kolbe A Index Result change your life – at home and at work? Each digital Kolbe result has an easy share button. Email a copy to a friend, or share on your favorite social platforms using #KolbeStrengthsWeek.
It doesn’t take much to make a big difference. It just takes purpose and consistency over time; before you know it, you’re celebrating your 50th year. Imagine what the 50th Strengths Week will look like if we all work together to help the movement grow!
